Forty-Five Plus One

For decades, there have been DJ sets, and there have been live music performances.

Forty-Five Plus One dares to bridge the gap between the two.

DJ Alf spins a set of music on classic vinyl. Periodically, he's joined by a musician who adds something to the record that he's currently playing. Over the course of the set, one might see guitarists, percussionists, horn sections, string sections, MCs and any number of surprises - all adding their unique twist to the performance.

Forty-Five Plus One sets have been seen as part of the FoCoMX and UMS music festivals, at brunches at Ophelia's Electric Soapbox and Roxy Broadway, and at art openings and casual get-togethers across Colorado.

Over two hundred musicians have taken part in a Forty-FIve Plus One set, including:

* Josh Lee (Izcalli/Eldren, violin)
* Jason Hoke (The Hollow, percussion)
* SF1 (MC, percussion)
* Kelsey Marchman (Thousand Frames, guitar)
* Jonny 5 (The Flobots, MC)
* Lynn Truell (Imperial Teen) - drums/percussion/keyboards
* Jake Schroeder (Opie Gone Bad, vocals)
* Johnny Hickman (Cracker, guitar)
* 12 Cents for Marvin horn section
* Miles (Denver Broncos, percussion)
